Injected plastic – prototyping in STL

Vending T, is a terminal for printing tickets, and reading transport tickets using barcodes or magnetic reading.

The design of the ticket dispenser was conditioned by the provision of a large number of electronic elements (touch screen, bar code reader, magnetic reader, display, printer, in addition to all the internal communication and control elements) and its location next to the bus driver's station. The assembly and disassembly of the dispenser had to be safe and fast due to maintenance issues.
The result of the project is a compact object that meets the ergonomic parameters for both driver and user control. The location of the magnetic reader and the barcode reader are identified with an

Design and development

In the design and subsequent development, the exploded views were taken into account to be able to manufacture the elements by means of plastic injection without the need to resort to very complex molds in order to obtain a low-cost product. The development of the project included the prototyping phase, carried out using STL, for design adjustments and validation by the end customer. This project was carried out for Global Salcai-Utinsa.
