Product design and technical development for Envac’s new smart pneumatic waste collection bin, designed to be integrated into more efficient and sustainable cities.
At Trem, we participated in the design and technical development of NOVO, Envac’s new pneumatic waste collection bin.
The challenge was to develop a product capable of meeting new demands for sustainability, accessibility, connectivity, and urban quality, while also taking into account the regulatory requirements specific to an element installed in public spaces.
NOVO incorporates tools focused on traceability, user identification, communication with citizens, and improving source separation, without losing sight of the requirements for robustness, maintenance, and intensive use demanded of a product installed in public spaces.
Our work focused on supporting this evolution through product design and technical development, seeking a balance between urban presence, ease of use, durability, and industrial coherence. Its minimalist geometry, distinct user and service modules, accessible interface, and integrated side ventilation all contribute to a clean, contemporary look, designed to blend naturally into various urban environments.

Result
The result is a pneumatic waste collection bin with its own distinct identity, ready to become part of a more connected, people-centered, efficient, and sustainable city.
NOVO combines design, technology, and public service to improve the relationship between people, urban infrastructure, and waste management. It is a product that transforms the waste collection point into a smart urban hub and reinforces Envac’s image as an innovative company in the development of solutions for the city.
