Brukskunts is essentially a large capacity coat rack. “Brukskunst” is an expression from the Scandinavian countries that comes to mean “useful art”, in the sense of useful objects that harmoniously combine aesthetics and functionality.
Brukskunst incorporates an umbrella stand or a shoe drawer at its base, depending on the version chosen. Due to its appearance it can be understood as a sculpture, a sculpture that is used as a coat rack, but what is clear is that it is an element that, being simple in its idea, transmits a sensation of complexity in its form.
Brukskunts highlights the importance of the material and the technical knowledge necessary for its transformation, it is a functional design, based on essential design, without decorations
superfluous, looking for the natural beauty of the material and the aesthetic of the minimum.
Analyzing the object from a technical point of view, it is a product that requires the artisan knowledge and the technical ability necessary to reach a high-quality industrial production. It is made up of wooden slats with the same section, which are joined together to form the tower and generate the holes where the arms pivot to hang the garments.
